Welcome to AI People Search ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website (https://aipeoplesearch.io/) and use our AI-powered facial recognition and reverse image search service (the "Service").
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described herein.
Information We Collect
We collect information that identifies, relates to, or could reasonably be linked to you ("Personal Information") in the following ways:
Information You Provide:
- Input Data (Photographs): When you upload images, we may temporarily process biometric identifiers (such as facial feature vectors or embeddings) derived from those images solely for the purpose of performing matching. We do not retain such biometric identifiers after the search is completed, except as necessary for short-term processing and security purposes.
- Account & Contact Information: If you contact customer support or submit an Opt-Out request, we collect your email address and any details you provide.
- Payment Information: If you purchase a subscription, your payment details (e.g., credit card number) are collected and processed directly by our PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processors (Stripe or PayPal). We do not collect or store your full financial information.
Automatically Collected Information:
- Device Identifiers (DID) & Log Data: To manage our freemium model and prevent abuse, we automatically collect your unique Device ID, IP address, browser type, operating system, and access times.
- Usage Data: We track how you interact with the Service, including the pages you visit and the features you use.
Information from Other Sources (Publicly Sourced Data):
- Search Results: Our core technology operates as a real-time search engine. We do not maintain a proprietary database of faces. Instead, we index publicly available information on the internet. The URLs, images, and social media profiles returned in your search results are sourced from public websites over which we have no control.
- Noted: The fact that information is publicly available does not imply unrestricted use. We process such data solely to provide search functionality and do not create independent profiles or dossiers on individuals.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service (including executing the AI facial matching).
- To manage your daily free search credits based on your Device ID.
- To process your subscription payments securely via our partners.
- To maintain your "History" and "Collection" for a limited time (see Section "Data Retention").
- To track conversions, analyze user behavior, and measure the effectiveness of our own marketing campaigns using tools like Google Ads and Google Analytics.
- To serve third-party advertisements (such as via Google AdSense) to monetize the free tier of our Service, with the understanding that paid subscribers will receive an ad-free experience and their data will not be shared for such display advertising purposes.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and abuse (e.g., blocking abusive IPs).
- For paid users, we do not use your data for third-party display advertising. However, limited data (such as pseudonymous identifiers) may still be processed for analytics, security, and service functionality.
Disclosure of Your Information
We may share your information in the following situations:
- Service Providers: We share necessary data with trusted third parties who assist us, including:
- Cloud Hosting: AWS (Amazon Web Services) for secure data storage and server hosting.
- AI Technology Partners: Third-party APIs to process the facial recognition algorithms.
- Payment Processors: Stripe and PayPal.
- Analytics & Advertising Partners: Depending on your subscription status, we share specific data with third-party partners:
- For Marketing & Analytics (All Users): We share aggregated usage and conversion data with Google (including Google Analytics and Google Ads) to understand user behavior, optimize our website, and measure our own ad campaigns.
- For Display Advertising (Free Users Only): We partner with third-party ad networks, primarily Google, to serve advertisements on our website. These partners may use pseudonymous identifiers such as cookies, device identifiers, and IP addresses to deliver relevant advertising.
- Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal processes, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of AI People Search, our users, or the public.
- Corporate Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- Aggregated or Anonymized Data: We may share aggregated, de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you for any business purpose.
International Data Transfers
AI People Search is operated globally, and our primary servers are hosted by AWS. Therefore, your information, including uploaded images, may be transferred to, stored, and processed in jurisdictions outside of your country of residence (such as the United States), where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer and processing.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience.
- Advertising and Analytics Cookies: We use two distinct types of advertising-related tracking technologies:
- Our Marketing (Google Ads Tracking): We use Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing tags to understand how users interact with our site after clicking our own advertisements across the internet.
- Third-Party Display Ads (Google AdSense - Free Users Only): We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when free users visit our website. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (such as the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Your Opt-Out Choices:
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting the Digital Advertising Alliance's opt-out page.
- You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.
Data Retention (Strict Limitation)
We practice strict data minimization to protect your privacy:
- Temporary Storage for Search History: To provide the "History" feature, we temporarily store your uploaded images and the specific Search Result photos you click on.
- Automatic Deletion: After your subscription plan expires (or, for free users, after a period of inactivity), all saved history files will remain accessible for up to one (1) week. Once this 7-day period ends, our system automatically and permanently deletes these files. We do not retain biometric identifiers (such as facial feature vectors) beyond what is strictly necessary to perform the search request. Any such data is processed transiently and deleted promptly after use.
Your Rights & Choices (The Opt-Out Mechanism)
In certain jurisdictions, particularly those with strict biometric data protection laws, we may restrict or limit access to the Service or certain features unless a valid legal basis for processing is established.
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California), you may have certain rights regarding your personal data.
- The Right to Opt-Out (Takedown Request): This is our core privacy feature. If you are the subject of an image that appears in our Search Results and you do not want your public information indexed by our Service, you can submit an Opt-Out request. Upon verification of your identity, we will block your facial features from appearing in future searches on our platform.
- Other Rights: You may also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal data we hold about you.
- To exercise these rights, please contact us at the email provided below.
Security
We implement commercially reasonable security measures, leveraging the enterprise-grade security infrastructure of AWS, to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Our Service is strictly intended for users who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from a child under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete that information and block the associated Device ID.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
